What is the International Society of Root Research?

Michelle Watt, President ISRR

Michelle Watt, President ISRR

As President of the International Society of Root Research, I welcome you to this website. The Society's aim is to promote cooperation and communication between root researchers around the world. I hope that you will join us in this endeavour.

The main activity of the Society is to hold regular scientific meetings at which the latest research on roots can be presented. Our last two meetings in Dundee, Scotland, Canberra, Australia, and Yearim Hotel, Israel each attracted over 300 participants. Our next meeting will be held in Missouri in 2021.

In 2015 we initiated a Lifetime Award prize that was presented to Professor Margaret McCully during ISRR9 and to Hans Lambers during ISRR10 for their significant contribution to root research.
